A bilingual website for Basko City Mall in Padang, West Sumatra. It helps visitors find tenants by category and floor, check opening hours, and follow events and news.

Context

Basko City Mall opened on 29 May 2025 on Jalan Bypass KM 9 in Padang and describes itself as the largest shopping center in West Sumatra. It was developed by Basko Group, owned by H. Basrizal Koto, and designed by Arete Arsitek. The mall has three retail floors of fashion, food, and electronics, with an entertainment level that includes a Cinema XXI, bowling, and a children's play area. According to the mall, many of its national and international brands are opening in West Sumatra for the first time.

The challenge

A new mall has to tell people what is inside before they make the trip. Visitors want to know whether their favorite brands are there, where to eat, which floor to head for, and whether the mall is open now. The site needed to answer those questions quickly on a phone, and give the mall a place to announce openings and events as tenants came online.

Approach

How it came together.

  1. 01

Put tenants and the visit plan in the hero

Two actions, Jelajahi tenant and Rencanakan kunjungan, sit under the headline with an open-until badge below them. A row of anchor brand logos confirms the tenant mix before the first scroll.

  2. 02

Organised tenants by what people come for

The Apa yang Anda cari hari ini section offers six photo cards, from food and drink to electronics, each with its tenant count. Visitors pick a category and go straight to the list.

  3. 03

Built a floor guide instead of a static map

The Denah Mall section describes the ground, first, and second floors, with the character of each floor and how many tenants it holds. It answers where to go without forcing a dense map image onto a phone screen.

  4. 04

    Gave entertainment its own section

Cinema XXI, bowling, and the play area get a dedicated block with a link to the film schedule, since entertainment is a main reason families visit in the evening.

  5. 05

Added events, news, and practical details

An events and news list records milestones such as the opening and the cinema launch. The closing section repeats the address, daily hours, directions, and contact, and an ID/EN toggle sits in the floating header.
